Design Process

The design process consists of several phases and depends on various factors. Here's a brief overview of the process:

1. Initial consultation: We'll discuss your needs and desires for the space. Before the consultation, you'll need to fill out a questionnaire to provide a baseline of your preferences. Following this, we will schedule a consultation, either in person or via Zoom for e-design only.

2. Gathering information: During the meeting, we will discuss your likes and dislikes, budget, and timeframe. Clear communication is crucial for achieving the desired design.

3. Measured survey: The designer will conduct a measured survey to plan the space and ensure that all elements fit and work together. Based on the brief, survey, and any additional information, the designer will provide a quote for the proposed scope of work.

4. Design scheme: Once the design package is chosen, the designer will present a design scheme, including scale plans, elevations, concept, finishes board, and costings to implement the scheme, if you wish us to undertake the entire project.

5. Communication and considerations: Throughout the process, good communication is essential. You should have a wish list ready for your room and consider your budget and desired materials. Changes may incur additional costs and time, and it's important to be mindful of this. Additionally, make sure to understand the design plan, finishes, and timescale to avoid any miscommunications.

6. Additional tips: Avoid giving orders to your contractor without consulting the designer, as this could incur additional charges. Limiting design changes to two will ensure that the project stays within the agreed-upon timeframe and budget. Ultimately, by working together with MJ Interiors KC and maintaining open communication, we can create a space that you will enjoy for years to come.
